Project Title: Food Policy Course

Description: Urban poverty and hunger, urban containment and the preservation of agricultural land, local economic development via food production and processing, the role of zoning of community gardens, grocery stores, and restaurants in promoting urban food security—these are all food system planning issues, whether or not they are conceived as such. Planners deal with basic needs such as housing, running water, and transportation–shouldn’t they address food as well?
